Sponge iron Plant
Sponge iron Plant

BMMIL has an installed DRI production capacity of 6,60,000 TPA having 4 x 500 TPD kilns and 2 x 100 TPD kilns. While the 500 TPD kilns are of ‘Pre-heating technology’ the 100 TPD kilns are conventional kilns. With this manufacturing capacity we are one of the largest producer of sponge iron in this region. Having our own Pelletisation plant for continuous supply of raw material to Sponge iron plant, puts us under advantageous position over other manufacturers. Well connected with prospective clients of the product by Road, & Rail as well as connected to the sea port ensures proper supply of coal and better continuity of product supply to clients.

QUALITY OF RAW MATERIALS

The major Raw Materials required for production of Sponge Iron by the rotary kiln process are: sized graded PELLET and Non-Coking coal generally imported from South Africa or Australia. Blast furnace grade limestone, in small quantities, is also required to scavenge the sulphur which is available from local mines. Of course iron ore for pellet making is sourced from the rich iron ore in and around Hosapete – Ballari region. Stringent quality control norms in line with the quality management system standards (ISO 9001:2008) helps us maintain the desired feed quality.
